I am having a tough time changing/updating the style sheet for a DF.

The order of .css files appear to be.

    default.css

    portal.css

    skin.css

    module.css

By default a DF uses the DNN style sheet which would work backwards from skin.css.  Once you click on custom style sheet and update, it appears that DF uses the module.css (DynamicForms_Default.css) and then generates a custom .css file.  This works fine.  However...

Needing the style sheet to be defined at the skin.css level, I changed my custom DF style sheet back to DNN and updated/refreshed/etc.  I can not get the new settings to take.

I know my skin.css file is working because all other A.Normal text assigned to that skin is formatted correctly.  Only the DF text is unchaged.  I even deleted the custom .css file generated by DF as well as changing the DF default.css file to match my skin.css.  Still nothing.

Where would these settings be coming from?

    HI Tom
Can you export content of the DF form, and then import it to another newly created page and see if this fixes the problem? -- David

    Hi David,

Yes, your way does work.  However, what I was trying to do was control the style sheet based on my skin.css file not the module.css.

I have a client who wants a few fonts changed and a special skin for a multipage DF survey.  The survey is already completed but needs to be updated to match the clients needs.  The only way I can see doing this now is update the module.css for each page of the multipage survey.  Tedious.

I have tried playing with every .css file all the way from module to default.  Nothing.  If default DNN style sheet is selected where does DF look?  And in what order?

    Tom,

Hi. Well the module never actually renders the portal.css, or skin.css file at all. The module only renders a .css file specific to the module instance (at least in the 2.7 release, earlier versions only rendered it if the custom stylesheet property was checked within the module configuration).

If the standard DNN stylesheet option is chosen within module configuration, the module will default all stylesheet classes to be the DNN common classes, such as NormalTextbox or NormalRed etc.. If the Dynamic Forms stylesheet option is chosen the module render the classes that are custom such as DynamicForms_Textbox etc... The full list is available at http://www.datasprings.com/formdemos.

A few notes... After updating the stylesheet or Java Script file and leaving the settings area I believe you have to hit F5 or control F5 and refresh the page before the new stylesheet is loaded. So, another option is to just delete all content in the Dynamic Forms stylesheet and this way the module will not render anything stylesheet related at all.

    -Chad
