    Hello,

I have set up a form and have to problems:

    1. I can not validate my email-field. I have turned on server side and client side validation. The required filed message comes up, the regular expression message don't. I have copy and paste the expression from your user guide. No matter what i enter to the mail field, all entry is accepted.
    2. I have 3 drop-down-list. Every with 4 options in this manner: value=1 text=some word. I have configured to get a default value from a query string. When I call the form all drop-down-list are showing the list-option coming from the query string, works fine. But after submitting I can see (within the form results window) that the dropdown-list did not hold a value. When I set this boxes to required fields, I can see the text (value is coming as query string), but if I submit the form, there comes a message that there is no value set for the dropdown-list. Why can I see a text/value but there is no value chosen via query string?

    Best regards,

    Jörg

HI, try copying and pasting this into notepad first, and then pasting it into your DF form field:

    ^[_a-zA-Z0-9-] (\.[_a-zA-Z0-9-] )*@[a-zA-Z0-9-] (\.[a-zA-Z0-9-] )*\.(([0-9]{1,3})|([a-zA-Z]{2,3})|(aero|coop|info|museum|name))$

    Hi David,

yes, that's it - it works.
But one more question: when I enter nothing for email I receive the required filed message; if I enter an invalid mail address I receive the validataion error message - but when I enter a valid mail address I get a *.

Why and what messages is this?
I have entered nowhere a *-sign...

    Best regards,

    Jörg

Check out section "Question Validation" section when you're editing your field. This is where you set "Required Field". Note when you use the above validation email expression, you will need to check the box for "Use Regular expression?".
    Also note the fields:
    Required Field Text:
Required Field Error (ie. *): * (you may have a * right here)
    Regular Expression Error Message:

If you enter a valid email, you shouldn't get a "*" next to the Email address since it's valid. Are you sure the "*" isn't coming from another required field? Check the area above on all required fields.

Also, under Module Configuration, it's wise to to display validation summary so you can see what's not passing validation as well. -- David
