Unfortunately, the SQL Parameters (ie $(UserID)) cannot be used outside of Registration Completion Events.  I need to be able to create a dynamic combo box (drop down) based on a user's UserID or username.  You could see where $(UserID) would work perfectly for me but I need to find a way around this.  Here is my SQL statement as an example:

SELECT OrgName as QuestionOption, OrgID as QuestionOptionValue
    FROM OrgTable
    WHERE OrgTable.UserID=$(UserID)

The user is already associated with an Organization via the user's UserID (hence the OrgTable.UserID).  If the current user's UserID matches an UserID on the OrgTable, it would display the Organization's name.  I don't exactly need it to be a drop down but it's the only Dynamic Quesiton that allows for a SQL statement.

Does any know how to grab the current user's UserID or username?

    Kyle,

Yes, that parameter is not currently a valid token that can be used within the combo box SQL Options BUT... You can use all short field name values. In other words, you could make a hidden field called UserID and retrieve that userID either via the SQL option default value or better yet, you could just use whatever field you have specified for 'UserName'.

    Give this a shot:

    1. Make the short field name of your UserName field MyUserName
    2. Change the query to get the UserID for that username

    Example:
SELECT OrgName as QuestionOption, OrgID as QuestionOptionValue
    FROM OrgTable
WHERE OrgTable.UserID= (Select UserID from Users where UserName = '$(MyUserName)'

This 'should' work, but it possible that the username field would have to be before the combo box in the order list.

If this doesn't work we will try and get the enhancement for adding the UserID parameter/token added in the next release.

So far I haven't been able to get this to work. It comes up as a blank field. If it did work I don't think it would correct my problem. We have certain user's who will be able to create new accounts. When they go to create a new account, we only want their organization to show up instead of everyones. As you know, when creating a new account the username field is blank so nothing would show up in the Organization field.

This is why I have to be able to grab the UserID instead of just grabbing a value from another field.

If there isn't a temporary  solution it would be great if you could add this functionality in your next release as you mention.

    Anyone have any other input?
