Richard, your bump just pushed me into oncoming forum threads...
Ok....
1. Do you have a friendly URL provider? If so, sometimes it will allow you to have the OurProfessionals.aspx page point directly to the TabID that the directory is on. I would start with this route, so that when you go to that page you end up with the directory.
2. The creation of the detail link is not really rocket science so you can not use it at all and create your own that has the important details. If you take a look at the URL you see a few important querystring variables passed to the module, these is Detail/True and UserID/3... Beyond that you can make the URL anything you want. So make some text and says 'Show Details Of User' and instead of using the show details token make up with a hyperlink like this:
http://www.yoursite.com/firstname/&...onals.aspx Basically all the module needs is the parameter Details=True and the UserID passed (passing a first and last name is not really an option as you might have many john.does in the directory). So basically pass/make the URL look like however you want but just make sure to pass the detail and userID parameter as well.
Finally... Just a note that customers are also using similar techniques to create multiple 'Detail Links'. Basically they can setup multiple instances of Dynamic User Directory on separate pages but really only use the other instances for the detail template and not the item template. Then on the main user directory template they can have links such as 'Show My Pets', or 'Show My Careers' etc... And those can go (passing the TabID # to the other pages) and utilize the detail template just for that info.
Hope this helps!
