    Hi;

    As part of our User Registration we ask for a start date of the users professions, where the user enters month and year. I checked in the database, this is saved as mmyy.

    Now when someone views the users profile in the directory I would like it to come up as number of years experience, hence a calulated field, which obviously changes every year. Is there an option to do this?

    Thanks

    Thomas

    Thomas,

    Hi. Not directly you would have to:

    1. Create a another user core profile field which could represent this calculated value.
    2. Use a SQL completion event after registration that passes the mmyy to the stored procedure, then the stored procedure would insert/update a record in the database and perform the calcuation(updating the field you setup in step 1).

    OR

    1. Create a seperate detail page in Dynamic User Directory that takes the user to Tailored Text/HTML. From there you can use SQL Tokens and could perform the calculation etc...

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks Chad;
    The first solution does not work as the value changes, calculated the difference in year between the date given and the current date.

    I might hide this field for now and display it once the new version of Tailored Text/HTML is released. I believe it will contain the change that you can actually execute one SQL returning multiple values and bind them, rather than executing one SQL for each token. Is this correct and is there already a release date?

    Thanks
    Thomas
