    Hello

I've played with the dynamic registration (2.4 / DNN 04.04.01) for quite a while now without being able to localize the last bits of the form (form localization).

I've localized the module resx files into finnish, I have tried content / form localization. I've set finnish as the default language for the portal, set finnish as the default language for the browser plus disabled browser language detection. I've also gone through all the files in DeskTopModules/Dynamic registration and basically screwed up my setup by replacing all references to "Register", "Update Registration" and "Cancel  Membership" with the finnish equivalents with no avail.

The module just sits there saying "Register" while it shouldn't

I have no idea where it at this point even gets the string. Any ideas?

P.S. I tried to use image as register button, no effect.

Am I missing a setting or something here?

    Jani,

Hi. You shouldn't need to modify any of the module resx files directly (unless you are also trying to localize the back-end administration. The areas you changed for 'Register' and 'Update Registration' are just used as the default values that are specified when you go into manage the questions and settings. The way it should work is this:

    1. You should setup all of the register text/update register text under Layout Questions & Settings. This will be the values that are used for the 'Default Portal Language' that you have specified within your portal. This is discussed/changed in 7.7.9 within the user guide (currently page 84).
    http://www.datasprings.comuserguide...rGuide.pdf

    2. For all other languages other then the default you should use the content localization area of 7.8 within the user guide. Specifically 7.8.1 related to the form content localization. There is a specific area to saving each form content localization so make sure you update it directly (its not updated in the standard 'update settings' area.).

If you are already doing this and its still not working as you desire please open a support ticket on Snowcovered and we will take a closer look to see whats happening.

    -Chad

    Thanks Chad

I indeed was missing something here. All went right except that instead of going into "Module Layout / Stylesheets > Link Buttons / Image buttons"  I tried to localize the form in "Content Localization > Form Localization"

I guess my logic failed here because "Module Layout / Stylesheets" in a logical sense refers to how the forms is displayed and not what is being displayed. "Content Localization" on the other hand has much stronger implication on what is being displayed. Especially when I'm trying to localize the form.

I admit it's challenging task where to put all these configuration options. Majority of the users who are not localizing the form but just wainting to change these buttons say something else than the default, would find these options right where they are without a hiccup. But users like me, who constantly needs to do localization work (since DNN 1.x  for me), would go into the localization section to seek options to change the text for the link buttons.

Thanks again, your reply helped me there...
