Form Submit Issue with HTML Button

    I have a form and I want and save and a cancel button with align (hoz) with each other at the bottom of the form. I could do this with two HTML buttons with the save button having a question event that submits the form and the cancel button using some java script to redirect the page.

    The problem is with the HTML button and a question event, if you try this the form submit will fire every time the form is loaded or refreshed, without clicking the save button. Is this a bug?

    Hi guys,

    Well right now the HTML Button can work as a question event, but really its just causing a postback and therefore any postback will also cause this.

    The best way around this issue is either to use some pretty creative stylesheet/CSS options to move that around within the DIV, or to hide the submit button all together (which is a feature) and then like you are doing for the submit button, but... (this is the key... drum roll please ) use a client side event instead of the question event.

    You can use a client side event pretty easily, just click 'View Source' to view the source code that is underneath the "real" Submit Button and then copy/paste that and make it the JavaScript that is called form the HTML Input Button.

    I tried copying the code for the "onclick" and copy it into the client side script.   The screen refreshed, but that is about it.  It didn't act as the submit button would and didn't go through the field validation routines.
