Hi! Can anyone else confirm or resolve this expiry date isssue?

ENVIRONMENT. DNN: 5.5.  DynamicForms: 3.4 (just bought yesterday)

Note this was an existing 3.0 form, but I also tested on a new instance of D.F.:

Setup a form for an ADD ROLE completion event, that fires on a certain radio field being true.

What I want: I leave Date/Days blank to have NO Expiry date
What it does: Slugs the date 1/1/1900 in the expiry, basically nulifying the role permissions.

If I select number of days / ### it works as expected, if I put Fixed date / date it also works fine. But with either setting Number or Fixed, if the date field is empty (or has "0" in it) the date on the expiry added role is 1/1/1900.

New bug? Have patch? Setting I have missed?

    Thanks for your help.

Have the same problem here with 5.5.1 and 3.4.
    The help sayes:
"Please enter the number of days before this role expires for the user (leave empty if the role should never expire)."
This does not work. Instead of the Date left "Null" it it set to "Tick" 0. which is not was the description sayes.
    This is a bug.

David, I know we exchanged emails about this but we are unable to duplicate it here.  Can you please give us temporary edit rights and give us the site's URL and a host account so we can look into this for you?

Thomas, are you also getting the 01/01/1900 expiration date?   If not, please send me a screen shot of what you're seeing when you view the user's roles in User Accounts.

Please use the Contact Us Support Form to get me your information.  Be sure to include this forum thread's URL for reference.  Thanks!

I am having the same problem with DF in a 5.6.2 environment.  When a completion event is fired to add a role and role expiry date is blank (which this should mean the role never expires), the date that is recorded in the database is 1/1/1900.

What is the fix for this issue?

    Hi Dennis,

This has not been reported since that time so I'm thinking this was fixed. Can you please give me your exact Dynamic Forms version from Host, Module Definitions? Thanks!

Were having the exact same issue. Also getting the 1/1/1900 as the expiry date. We are on:

    DF: 3.40.41
    DNN 5.6.1

Please update us on what is going on, thanks!

    Hi Dustin,

Chad responded to Dennis by email so I'll share here what he said. Thanks!

Yes I am aware that this was reported and we have not yet had time to duplicate but it wouldn’t surprise me based on how DotNetNuke recently changed roles and some default values. There were two work abounds I provided previously though which should be pretty useful for the time being.

    1. Set the expiry date to something like a static date of 1/1/2099
    2. OR
    3. Use a SQL Event to set the expiry date to a null value

Part of this related to how NULL dates used to work in both SQL Server and DotNetNuke I believe. If you google something like “DotNetNuke Date 1/1/1900 initially” you will see many threads and results related to this. Its not that we are not directly setting that as the value, we simply not setting it within the code as NULL and then SQL Server is defaulting that. I believe we are doing this because if we require it to be set as NULL it would mean that we are forced to reference DNN 5.4 or 5.5 as the ‘Starting DNN Version’ for Dynamic Forms and a large percentage of our customers are running on 4.x and earlier versions of 5.x so we have not yet started forcing that version.
