My form has a completion event that is a URL/Page Redirection. This target page is a report page and needs to accept url query parameters from the DF. That means the url the DF is calling will be built with the url I type in and the field names and values coming from the form.

The report page has a clean, print-ready design with no website menu or other clutter. So I need to have it open in a new window or tab in the browser, not the same window.

What is the trick with Dynamic Forms to make the target URL of a completion event open in a new window?  TIA, Mark

Hi Mark - You would be able to do this a few different ways.

    1. You can pass along any specific URL parameter you need to in the full URL.
    2. You can enable the option within each specific question / field to "Pass field value via querystring variable" and this will pass based on the short field name.
    3. There are certain / specific querystring parameters you can pass into any DNN Module that will enable DNN PRint Mode, hide the module container, hide the module skin, etc...

    Thanks,

    Chad

Thanks Chad, I'm up to speed on 1 and 2. Number 3 is a good idea if I only had one report on the page. The problem here is there are actually 3 report modules on the "report Page" and what is needed is a way to print the entire page without any other page elements like the menu, header, footer etc. I need to print a clean white page with the 3 report modules on it.

Maybe this is going in the wrong direction, but I have created a DNN page with a single content-pane skin with no menu etc. and stacked the three reports in the content pane. The result is perfectly formatted for printing a consolidated report. The problem is that this report replaces the content of the active window in the browser when it is opened. The user now has no menu to continue working with the website. I am thinking it would work much better if the report page opened in a new tab in the browser so it could just be printed and closed and the website is still there in view. So unless there is a better way to print a 3-report page without the extra visual content of a normal dnn skin, what I need now is to have the dynamic form that sends the field data to the reports have a completion event that opens the dnn page in a new window (or tab) in the browser.

The latest thought is that I just need to set up css for printing.
