This functionality should work.
So my guess is either that you're not storing the Parent Combo Box Value and Children Combo Box values accordingly so that the Initial SQL Bind can pull in these values, map to the respective fields, and run through the dependency.
I would recommend enabling the debug mode for this form to ensure that you see what's happening upon editing a record(look at the Initial SQL Bind query once rendered).
To insert debug mode with Querystring parameters already in the URL append &Debug=True to your URL.
www.yoursite.com/DynamicFOrms.aspx?Debug=True
or
www.yoursite.com/DynamicFOrms.aspx?Querystring1=Test&Debug=True
