When using the Dynamic Form module, Is there any way to change where the images get uploaded to?

I'm using the Dynamic Forms in conjunction with the Real Estate module and was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to get the images uploaded from Dynamic Forms to go into the /listings/images directory.  I have a trigger updating the DNN_RealEstate_Listing table, but need to copy the images Real Estate image directory.

    Thanks,
    JZ

Hi. Unfortunatly no you cannot determine without changing the code where the images get uploaded to... If you have a dedicated server you could setup an XCOPY task that runs every 5 minutes and copies all files from the Dynamic Forms Images directory to the other directory?

Chad, unfortunately the server is not a dedicated one, or this would be extremely simple to accomplish.

I did purchase the module with source code, but last question I promise.  Can I simply change the code in the DynamicImageControl.ascx from Codebehind="DynamicImageControl.ascx.vb" to Src="DynamicImageControl.ascx.vb".  Of course I would change the folder directory in the vb file.

...Or do I need to recompile the DLL

You would need to recompile the DLL. The major problem here is that its also used in other areas such as email events and so forth I believe... If you need custom development you can have us do it but since we have a minimum number of hours on retainer it won't be as affordable as changing and recompiling it etc....

Well the good news is that recompiling the DLL worked.  The not so good news is that I can't seem to get the image name to update my custom table.

Basically I'm using Dynamic SQL Statement to update another table.  All the fields are populating with the exception of the image fields.  I am using '$(Picture1)', '$(Picture2)', etc in the SQL statement, but the table row is not updating with the file name sof the images.

If I switch the fields on the form from IMAGE to FILE ATTACHMENT/UPLOAD, the fields gets updated with the http://mysite.com/Portals/0/Dynamic-Forms_Uploads/4e47446c-52d0-47a7-b18b-f3cde25e2101.jpg

How can update fields in another table using the Question Type of IMAGE?

Hmmm... Does it show if you put it in an email event?

Is this Dynamic Forms 2.3 or 2.5?

    Running 2.3.7

"Does it show if you put it in an email event?" - Does what show, the image? If that's what you're asking, then no, the picture does not show in the email when Question Type is set to Image, but it does show when it's set to File Attachement/Upload/ .

Please advise how I can get the SQL to commit the image file to my custom table when the Question Type is Image?

Hmmm.. Well by design it should not show the actual image, it should just shoe a unique filename. Then you can insert an image tag with the full path to the image. If its being saved with a blank though we should review this in a support case (if you can open one up on Snowcovered and possibly give us temporary edit rights to the page we should be able to easily review the configuration etc...)

In the mean time I will also test this against the 2.5 release as this area of code changed within that release.

I have to report back that the end-user virus seems to be the culprit, i.e., me!

I purchased the source code for both the Dynamic Forms module and the Real Estate module (blending the two to fulfill specific needs).  It has become apparent to me that in editing the source code, I was redirecting where the file was saved, but missed the code where it's pulling the unique file name back to write to the database.  So there is no issue with the SQL insert - the only issue is with the guy typing this email.

So my humble apologies, and kudos for the attention given, even though the bug was in my head, not your software.
