    Chad -

Is there a way that I can specify a connection string to use when pulling SQL-driven questions?  I am able to use the DNN Reports module to select and view my data, but the Reports module allows you to enter in a connection string, allowing me to utilize a different server.

I have seen a few posts where you mention testing with Host -> SQL, but since I can't specify a connection string there, I am wondering what I would need to do to get access to the data I need to populate my combo box.  Is there some key that I can add to the web.config that I can reference in my form to allow the use of multiple database servers / sources?

    Thanks!

    Patrick,

Hi. Unfortunatly Dynamic Forms does not currently support a seperate connection string for SQL options or SQL events etc... We are reviewing adding this but there is a work around you can implement. Within your SQL Server/database that DNN is using you can setup something called 'Linked Server'. Within the Linked Server you can specify the connection string to another server and other properties. You can then reference the linked server within your DNN database such as 'Select * from YourLinkedServer.dbo.database.tablename'. This way you can still reference this data  and reference this SQL Server/Table name within Dynamic Forms.
