    hi

    could somebody write down an exemple of regular expression for a combo box text with value empty?
    i had to make an error message as the one that it's showed when you don't fill a text field.

    Hi. Actually regular expression validators are only valid for textbox field types only. If you would like you can make combo box's required if you check the required field checkbox and enable client and server side validation from within general settings.

    What happens when the combo box is required is it will now allow the user to select the first option from within the dropdownlist. So, in other words you could set the first option to be - Select Field - and from there the user would be forced to choose an option since that was the first option in the dropdownlist.

    Hi.

    I have my form set to enable both client side and server side validation. And I have my combo boxes set to required...

    But people can still submit form without selecting anything (so that their selection comes through as "-select-"

    Is there something else i need to do?

    HI, you may have to accomplish this with regex validation on the combobox field. Use something like this:

    ^(?!-select-)

    for your regex expression under Validation. -- David
