    Hi,

    I created a contact form ... just a very simple form mailer.
    The message can be typed into a multiline textbox.

    After click on submit I get an email and everything looks good, except the message. All line breaks are removed from the message text.
    Looking really strange if you get such an email with a longer text ... as strange as a book without punctuation marks

    Is it possible to get the message text into the email as entered by the user (including the line breaks)???

    The problem is that the "multiline textbox" option when filled in, is rendered as HTML and the "return keys / line breaks" don't work with HTML unless they are converted as
    for HTML. Instead of using the "multiline textbox", you can use the "Rich Text Editor" field instead. This will render what the user enters as "HTML" with the line breaks, etc.

    thank you.

    I tried the "Rich Text Editor" as well.
    The problem is that the "Rich Text Editor" shows its toolbars by default and I didn't find how to display the editor in normal "textbox mode" (without toolbars) for users, but in "full mode" (with toolbars) for editors and admins.

    But I think that's not a task of DynamicForms ... it's a "configuration thing" of the FCK editor.
    I just wanted to ask before I'm getting deeper into the messy configuration files of the FCK.

    Just FYI:
    The Rich Text Editor has a very big problem: If JavaScript is disabled, it disappears ... completely without an alternative.

    So, I found another workaround for me:
    I added a hidden field (short name: "HTML_msg").
    And I added a client side event (Advanced field options) to my multiline textbox (short name: "Text_msg"):
    if ($(Text_msg).length > 0) {
      var strHTML = $(Text_msg);
      strHTML = strHTML.replace(/\r\n/g, '\n');
      strHTML = strHTML.replace(/\r/g, '');
      strHTML = strHTML.replace(/\n\n+/g, '\n\n');
      strHTML = strHTML.replace(/\n/g, '<br /> \n');
      $(HTML_msg) = strHTML;
    }

    It only works if JavaScript is enabled, but it's enough for me.
    On submit my form is sending an email with both $(HTML_msg) and $(Text_msg).
    If Javascript is disabled at client side, I just have the message without line breaks.

    It's not the optimum, but better than nothing.

    I have a similar problem... I'd like to only show some of the basic editing functions on my rich text, but the settings don't seem to support that.

    Hi Jeff,

    the FCK Editor does.
    At the bottom of each FCK editor field (if you are logged-in as administrator) you can find a link called "individual editor settings" (or something like that). If you click on it, you get a settings-popup.
    I selected in this popup for "Settings Type:" the option "Portal" to have these settings applied for the whole portal.
    After that you can set-up the user group-rights in the area "Editor toolbar view options". If you set-up here, that only the toolbar "Basic" is visible for "All Users" and all other toolbars are only for "Administrator" and "Subscriber", you get what you were looking for.

    Yea.. i eventually got it to work by setting the portal settings for the FCK... I didn't try the Module level settings, but the Instance Settings didn't work  I saw the settings table being updated with my choices, but the FCK form would never update when I went to alter them and the Dynamic Forms wouldn't show any changes.
