I've got two hidden fields in my form. Both are filled with values when the user tabs out of any of several other visible fields. When I check the database and the submit email, one of the hidden fields has stored it's value while the other has not and is always empty.

I have compared the settings of the two and they are identical except for the question, sort order, short name and Client side event.

I have even tried deleting the stubborn field and remaking it. I can not get it to store it's value. Can you help me at all?

Mark, I need some more info. Are you inserting the two hidden fields into a newly created SQL table? If so, what is your table structure? Are both hidden fields of the same data type? You can test debug your current situation by making both hidden fields a textbox field to see the results on the form and if you see the results, then change it back to hidden fields. If possible, type in the "client side script" for both hidden fields here for me to view. --David

David, thanks for taking my question.  I imported my form to a betasprings tab so you could see. Here is the right tab to see my Mulch Order Form.

To answer your questions, this is not a SQL table - at least, I wasn't trying to work with SQL on purpose. I just want the form results to be emailed back to me - including the hidden fields.

The hidden field that retains it's value in the submit email in the database is: TotalMulchCost. The one that does not retain its value in the email is OrderTotalCost.

The form on BetaSprings is not calculating the value for OrderTotalCost, however my form on my site does calculate it. I don't know why that is. I'm using DF 2.6.

The big question is, what do I have to do to get the OrderTotalCost to retain its value in the form results and/or the submit email? TIA David.

Second question, possibly related, is: If the client side event of field A places a value in field B, do you need to have a client side event (CSE) in field B that also calculates the value needed in field B?

I have found that if I leave the CSE on Field B empty, the CSE on field A does not work - that is, will not place a value in Field B. When I enter a CSE in field B, then the CSE in field A starts working and will place a value in Field B again.

Obviously, I don't have a firm grasp on what is really happening. Do I need a CSE on field B? that's the target field.
