    Hi,

    I would like to create a combo box which shows some dates. As DefaultValue I'm using a SQL-Statement:

    select  FieldValue As QuestionOption, FieldValue As QuestionOptionValue
    from UserDefinedData
    WHERE UserDefinedFieldID = '30'
    AND CONVERT(datetime, FieldValue) >= getdate()

    Unfortunatelly I get an error: Explicit conversion from data type ntext to datetime is not allowed.

    Is there a way to use getdate() with a SQL-Query? The field is a datetime-field within SQL-Server.

    Best,

    Jörg

    Hi. I don't think so, because you are pulling from the table UserDefinedData and that column name is set to be ntext. From the SQL message it sounds like you cannot convert a column of ntext to a column of datetime.

    Hi Jörg,

    Chad is right.
    I have a form with a hidden date field, filled with a default value via SQL:
    SELECT CONVERT(char(19), GETDATE(), 120) as DefaultValue

    As you can see, getdate() works.
    Just try to convert the datetime into text.
