At the moment we have new documents that need to be reviewed once a month. I would like to created some notifcation that alerts or display an image to the user when a new documents needs to be reviewed on my home page of sharepoint. We do not want to send out an e-mail to the users because they get enough already. I would also like the image or alert to disappear once the user has agreed that they have reviewed the document. I know that there are built in workflows in sharepoint but I can't prevent the e-mail from going out to the users.
