    Hi Guys.

I have a DUD module set up on my site.  I've configured two search criteria and they work great.  The module is set up to display a handful (but not all) of the user roles from my portal.   Thus my DUD search results = users in selected roles only plus users which fit criteria 1 plus users which fit criteria 2.  Perfect, no problem.

Now, I want to clone (copy) this page several times.  The key difference in the cloned pages will be that they will only show portal users from ONE particular user role.  For example, instead of showing all Tutors (comprised of various portal roles) who teach [select subject] (criteria 1) to [select age range] (criteria 2), there will be a cloned page which only shows San Francisco Tutors (a specific role) who teach [select subject] to [select age range].  There will be yet another page for New York Tutors (yet another role) who teach [select subject] to [select age range].  Etc, etc....

So here is my problem.  I take the original page and I copy it (and copy the DUD module).  Then I go into the DUD settings in the newly cloned page and I de-select all the roles I don't want it to display, leaving only the one single role I do want (such as San Francisco tutors).  Then I save changes.  I don't immediately get an error but when I navigate away from the page and then navigate back I get an error telling me that "there can only be one control directive", and then the module craps out.  I can't even open the control panel.  I have to nuke the cloned page.

I do not get this error on my original DUD page.  It only seems to happen when I narrow down the roles to 1 role.

Is this to be expected?  Why is this?  Help?!?!

HI, do not clone the original DUD module. Perform an export of the content, and then import it into the new page/tabid where you want it and then make the modifications to the role. Try this out and see if it works for you. -- David

I continue to have trouble with this. I have replicated the module using the export feature. No problem. The new instances of the module work correctly. However, something funky happens. Whenever I go into the replicated versions of the module, and I try to change something, (for example, changing a hyperlink), I get the control directive error again.

I will email you separately with some additional information about this.

HI, I believe there is a bug with the importing / exporting of DUD modules where it inserts those extra VB codes, etc. For now, when you perform an import, you will need to use the rich text editor and clean things up or delete everything in the contents of the RTE and retype / add what you want.

Or you can take the "uncorrupted" source code from the good module and then paste it into the "corrupted" instances of DUD as a replacement for the "corrupted" source code. -- David

I'm also experiencing this error. I am trying to create a page with 3 DUD modules on it. The modules are just about identical except that each is set to search a different field. To create the second and third modules, I imported the data from Module 1. Then I went into modules 2 and 3, deleted the corrupted import data in the RTE and pasted the "good" data from the original module. I also changed the search criteria to reflect the different fields I want to search on.

The search works fine in Module 1, but I get the control directive error in Modules 2 and 3. How can I fix this?

    Thanks!

On modules 2 and 3, can you re-verify by looking at the "Source" of the RTE to see if it's only valid HTML and no VB/javscript codes exist? -- David

I checked again and it contains only valid HTML plus the available tokens. I'm going to try re-building each module manually rather than using export/import and see if that helps.

I created the modules without using Export/Import and they work correctly now.
