I am trying to use the Autosearch function as explained on p.33 of the DUD User Guide.

On one page, I have a Dynamic Forms (v.3.1) module with an HTTP completion event. In the HTTP Post field, I have the following: [lastname]&AutoSearch=True

On the receiving end, I have a DUD (v.2.5.3) module with a pre-defined search field for lastname.

When I click on the submit button of the DF module, the http post correctly fills in the search field of the DUD module, but it doesn't initiate the search. (Also, &AutoSearch=True does not show up in the URL on the receiving end.)

I know that the DUD search works because when I click the search button manually, it returns the correct results. This result happens both when the Display No Records Until Search box is checked and when it is unchecked.

    I am using DNN 5.1.

    Please help!

Alternatively, can I autofill the filter field from the http post? If so, what would be the correct syntax for the filter field?

HI, if you go to your DUD page and in the URL, append
    ?lastname=someusername&autosearch=true

where someusername is a username on your website, will it auto-search automatically? It should. What I'd like to know is how did you set up your DUD page to accept HTTP post from a Dynamic Forms page? -- David

Thanks for responding, David! Yes, it worked when entered manually. Autosearch also worked when I manually appended autosearch=true to the resulting url of my http post completion event.

I've tried a lot of variations on using autosearch=true in my completion event, but none come across. Do you have any suggestions for making autosearch AUTOmatic?

DUD accepts the lastname portion of my Dynamic Forms http post because I'm using the same short field names in DF as I used in Manage Profile Properties and in creating my registration form in Dynamic Registration.

Appreciate any help you can offer on the autosearch thing. Thanks!

Problem solved by moving AutoSearch=true to the redirect url under module configuration.
