I am attempting to set up Dynamic Login to redirect based on role and I beleive that the documentation isn't clear on the theory of how this is supposed to work.
From reading the forums I am gathering that I cannot use the standard DNN login page.
I have created a new page at Logon.aspx and added the Account Login and the Dynamic Login modules. I have set up the redirection rules based on role.
The redirection doesn't appear to be working and the dynamic login setup screen is showing up even though I am not logged in.
Am I going about this the correct way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HI, some quick questions:
1) on your redirection roles, make sure each has a separate priority number
2) Is the Dynamic Login set up to show for unauthenticated users only? -- David |

I have removed the view permission and the control is now only visible to Administrators. I also changed the priority and the role redirection isn't working.

Okay, that version should work. What do you have set up under module configuration? Entries for:
Override user and role redirection rules and always redirect to previous URL:
Keep user on same page as Dynamic Login module:
Lastly, under Admin / Site Settings / Page Management, is your "Login Page" set to the Dynamic Login module page?

I set the Login page to my new Login page (Logon.aspx) and unchecked "Override user and role redirection rules and always redirect to previous URL"
Now when I login it sends me to the Home.aspx page which is the page listed under "Default Redirect Link"

Default redirection link should redirect if the user signing in doesn't belong to a role that is listed in the Role Redirection you set up. So can you verify that the person logging in belongs to a certain role that is set up for redirection? Thanks. -- David |

Very interesting. Can you remove the default link (don't have it set to anything) and see if it works then. Just trying to narrow down the possibility. -- David |

Well, I'm running out of ideas now. Is this a site we can have Host Access to? If so, can you use the "Contact US" on the left pane and send us the URL/TABID of the dynamic login module and the host account login? Thanks but I'm running out of options to look at. -- David |

Hi, I just simulated a case on Rob Hill's site and the DL 3.1 trial is working just fine. I changed the sort order so there isn't a 0. Also made sure the template is set properly and created a test page with the DNN login module (viewable to admin only) and a dynamic login module and it's redirecting just fine. -- David |
