    Hi-

Using the "Export view results to excel" seems to give you a file with an XLS extension, but the file really seems to be a text file that is tab deliminited.  The file will still open in excel (after producing a warning) but will then convert the columns to various data types... for instance, I have a text file that has numbers with commas, e.g. 450,550,2134.  When i open the export file up with excel, it shows the value as 4505502134 (not sure if this is excel or the export process, but the commas are pulled out of the filed.

The strange thing is that the data is correct on the view (before the export).  Also, the data is correct if I save the "excel export" and rename it with a txt extension.

Would this be a bug/missing feature or is there some way around this with the current module ?

we are trying to create "user accessable data exports" and the exported data needs to be correct for the end user (and allow them an easy way to open and view the data (excel))

    thanks,

    Curtis

    hi--

Just wondering if this issue has been disucssed or if an enhancement/fix has been talked about for a future version of DV & DF?  I've had this issue with dynamic forms/views exports for a long time so this really might be a bigger issue?

    thanks,

    Curtis
