setting DL as DNN Login Page gives error

    I'v tested this on a few different versions of DNN (5.1.2 & 5.4.1) and still seem to have the problem.  Running DL 3.1.2, I have created a new login page, set up my templates, rold redirect, configuration, etc and everthing seems to work great.  I can type in the url to dynamic login and it works perfect.

     

    The issue I run into is when i go to admin > site settings and set this page as the DNN default login page.  After that, I click the login (login token) or try to access a secure page and receive the following DNN error on the page:

    A critical error has occured.  You have been redirected to this default login page because the login page set for this website does not contain a valid DotNetNuke Account Login module, or the permissions have not been set correctly. 

    I've gone through the documentation and don's see anything wrong with the configuration.  I've tested this without changing the default login and it seems to work correctly.

     

    what am I missing ?

    HI, on the Dynamic Login page, you need to add a standard DNN Login module and set this module to be viewable only to ADMIN. -- David

    THANKS!!!! That did the trick.  I don't remember seeing that in the instructions...not sure if it is or not,...but that should be listed in the basic/minimum steps to configure the module in red BOLD.

    HI, this is due to the fact that DNN 5.0 and higher made this issue as a requirement / work-around. Actually, if you do a search on the forum post, you will see this topic has been discussed many months ago. -- David
