Well, for starters, I need to gather more info. 1) how did this dynamic view module get generated, is it using the Dynamic Forms module option or an SQL query? 2) since there's no form completion event or SQL completion event built into Views, you would have to create a hyperlink to a Dynamic Forms page to do the editing /deleting of this record in the database. I hope this helps to point you in the right direction but we do need more details of your field setup, etc. -- David |

To clarify, if i were using a Dynamic View connected to a Dynamic Form, I could use the Edit Entry to populate and call the Dynamic Form then I could Delete the data? I thought the Dynamic Form will only allow me to Submit or Edit the data? |

Hello Mike,
With SQL completion events you can basically run any kind of SQL it's not limited. You can create a table upon submission or do whatever you want.
You could in essence create a hyperlink: Delete and in the href pass querystring parameters that you can place into a hidden field, and then fire a SQL completion event based on the hidden field.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks,
Ryan |

another way to delete or change data from dynamicView is to set a with "action". write a procedur like create proc [dbo].[RSEprocVisibleItem] ( @PrimaryKey int ='' ) AS RSEprocVisibleItem if (select isVisible from tbl where ProgID=@PrimaryKey) = 1 update tbl set isvisible=2 from dbo.tbl where ProgID=@PrimaryKey else update tbl set isvisible=1 from dbo.tbl where ProgID=@PrimaryKey and the "action" like exec RSEprocVisibleItem '$(PrimaryKey)' with this statement the state from ProgID will change from visible to invisible The Problem is, how to prevent unauthorized changes or how to set an action in user-context? Hello Isaks,
This is very true, but a common workaround would be to have 2 Dynamic Views on the same page. One will be for authorized/authenticated users to execute - edit, delete, or add functions. The other can be for unauthorized/unauthenticated users.
Make sure in the settings of the module that it's only viewable to a certain role and make sure that you don't include the same role for both to view the Dynamic View or else you'll always see both of them.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks,
Ryan |
