Adding really old newsletters to archive

    We've publishing a newsletter for over a year through another vehicle.  We are moving to Opt-In as our newsletter system.  We would like to add our old newsletters to the archive and make them searchable for DNN search.  How do I add the old newsletters to the system and keep their publishing dates?

    Hi Paul,

    This has actually come up before... I think there are a few issues here...

    1. Our Previous Newsletters search is currently not tied into the DNN Search option unfortunately. If you used a 3rd party search option

    2. Our other client running into these requirements needed to add the newsletters directly into the system and then run some SQL Statements to update the Newsletter Distribution Date.

    A 3rd option is to not use the Previous Newsletter module but to use a 3rd party reporting module such as our Dynamic Views module or maybe something such as OWS or IndooGrid, then you can query the Previous Newsletters tables.

    Thanks, Chad.

    I found an easy way to add old newsletters to the archive.  Just add the newsletter.  In the Create Newsletter module under 2) Email Status, select "Schedule for..." and put the date and time when the newsletter was originally sent and it works.
