DynamicViews makes me happy but i will be more happier when i can put one view into another view.
    Explain:

Some company are listed with there personell data like Companyname, street and so on.
    Now they have products.
How can i show the specific Produkt inside the company.

I can only bind one set of data.

    thanks from germany

    Hello Richard,

Perhaps you can provide a link from your original views next to each individual record, that will take you to another view for more information on that record.

    First Dynamic View:

Embedded in the link you can pass the $(PrimaryKey) value via querystring like this:

    www.yoursite.com/yourView.ascx?DSParam1=$(PrimaryKey)

    Second Dynamic View:
Then in your view that is nested, I really don't know what records or information you're trying to pull but you can use a Custom SQL query for your data source to say something like:

Select * from yourTable where yourTablePrimaryKey = '$(DSParam1)'

NOTE: The Primary Key token is a new feature added in Dynamic Views 2.0, if you're using Dynamic Views 1.0 then this approach won't work.

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hello Ryan,

    thanks for your reply.
I use the collection 4.0 and i think the view-modul is version 2.0.

My thinking was to use DV for the full list of the companies and inside one company i wish to show some products. The products are NOT in the same table as the company-table.
The initial databind for the DV can show only the company data.
    How to show nested data?

    Example:

    Company1              select * from tblCompany
                 Produkt11     select * from tblProgram
                 Produkt12
                 Produkt13

    Company2
                 Produkt21

    Company3
                 Produkt31
                 Produkt32

Yes you´re right, i can pass a key from DV1 to DV2 and in DV2 show all product but that is not nested.

But i have a solution for this problem.
First i use DV as the list of companies but for detailview i dont´t  use the "DetailView" parameter.
For detailview i reference the parameter "DSParam1" thru QueryString and pass it to a side with TailoredHtml modules. The first tailoredHtml modul in top-pane get the same look as the DV modul and the other tailored modules can show the products and other information from different tables.

For me it is a great solution.

thanks and have a nice weekend.
