Ok, well in this case its not the case but that does happen as well... This could be a couple issues, but my guess would be the template isn't getting saved properly. These are saved as physical files I believe so it could be a permissions issue but I doubt that too. Just strange as we have not run into this.
Does this site have multiple languages installed? If so there is a template for each language as demo'd at dynregdemo.datasprings.com.
If not, please open a support ticket and we will have our guys look into it right away. Just not something we have seen before so we might have to look under the hood.
