    Hi,

I have a DL module setup for login on my web site.  I was hoping to use the Execute SQL Query to perform a lookup immediately after login to then add a variable to the querystring to be available to the page called after login.  My stored procedure is being called as expected, but I think this feature is supposed to be used for data creation/update rather than data retrieval.  Any thoughts on how I might do something like this?

Again, I need to retrieve a value from a SQL table based upon the UserID of the user who just logged into the system.  I thought that I might have a DF on the receiving page that ran a SQL Query upon load to populate a hidden field, but then I would still not be able to access that hidden field from other modules on the page (without writing additional code, which I'm trying to avoid).

    Thanks!
    Brian

    Hello Brian,

I would just pass the UserID in the URL but you will need to pass it like this if you decide to use Dynamic Forms SQL Binding(which is what I would do):

    www.yourSite.com/yourPage.aspx?DSParam1=$(UserID)

    Don't pass it like this:

    www.yourSite.com/yourPage.aspx?UserID=$(UserID)

The reason being is because SQL Binding will only accept tokens named DSParam1, DSParam2, or DSParam3.

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
