I just upgraded a couple DNN installs from DNN 5.6.0 to 5.6.1, both installs use OptIn Email 4.3.7 ... after the upgrade all links fail on the Advanced OptIn page and you cannot navigate to other module links.
Clicking Create New Email, or Control Panel or any link icon appearing in the list of recently sent emails. displays the progress bar for a moment, then an IE browser error (lower right) stating ...
Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/4.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; OfficeLiveConnector.1.4; OfficeLivePatch.0.0; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E; Creative AutoUpdate v1.40.01) Timestamp: Sat, 29 Jan 2011 20:49:26 UTC Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled. Details: Error parsing near '
So I can confirm that this happens on at least 2 separate DNN installs.
Another issue, slightly different I also noticed on another install upgrade to DNN 5.6.1 using OptIn email 4.1.4 that the rich text editors were not displaying on the create new email page properly ... only a text box with HTML code, and no option to change it .. this is using the FCK editor and it appears the radio buttons to switch between text and rich text mode do not appear .. I visited a regular text page and found the FCK editor to be set to basic text .. and switched it to the rich text .. after that I returned to the Create email page I could now see the rich text editor .. but still no radio buttons to change between rich text and basic text. I can't be certain this had to do with the 5.6.1 upgrade as I haven't visited that page/site for a while. Perhaps something to do with telerik compatibility.
Thanks
Kelly

Kelly, Hi. Can you please tell me if you are running on the ASP.NET 4.0 framework (it should show you under host/host settings). -Chad

Hi Chad, I am running .NET 3.5 Referring to issue where I cannot access links on Advanced Email page .. goes nowhere if I click the Large icon I can navigate to the pages (Create Email, Control Panel, View Log Results), but clicking the same text link I cannot. Also, clicking the icons for the individual email reports (small icons for View Report, View Email, etc) go nowhere as well. I can also confirm that on a third DNN 5.6.1 install using OptIn 4.3.6 that I do not have this issue. Thank you Kelly

Hi Kelly, Please access Opt In Email 4.3.71 in your Snowcovered account. You'll find it in Patches and Hotfixes OR in MyDownloads if you have the Collection 4.0. Let us know if this patch helps clear the issue for you. Thanks! Candace

Hi Candace, I applied the 4.3.71 patch and still have the same issue. I'd be glad to provide you with host access if that's helpful. Thanks Kelly |

Hi Chad/Candace, I think I can add some new info I've discovered to this list of issues. This morning, my customer tried to send out 756 emails via Opt-In email .. reporting indicated that 0 were sent, read, opened, bounced, etc. So I tried to send out the same email again, thinking that they simply forgot to select a list group. When I sent it and I was returned to the main Advanced email page, I got this error A critical error has occurred. Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_DataSprings_OptInEmailScheduledNewsletter'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.DataSprings_OptInEmailScheduledNewsletter'. The statement has been terminated. That second attempt email blast I sent did have the same subject and date title so maybe that explains that error .. However, when I look at the reporting for the second email I sent out .. it shows 756 sent, 742 failed, 115 read distinct, and 511 read ... this is only seconds after sending, and numbers don't make sense. So "perhaps" the first attempt was not reporting but did send .. then the second attempt did or didn't send (can't tell yet) .. but the reporting for it seems more like it's from the first attempt. That said, of the people I asked (perhaps 6), and including myself .. none have recieved the email yet (from either attempt) Very odd behavior, I hope this helps Kelly |
