    Hi,

Yesterday things worked great when I tested, and today when I went to send out an email to a list it doesn't work.

In the event viewer, I received this message
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Dataspring.DNN.Modules.OptInAdvanceEmail.__OptInDashBoard.GenerateCurrentDashboard() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

My adv e mail module is on one page, my opt in on another. I quadruple checked that  adv e mail referenced the opt in module page.

The event viewer message is a little cryptic.

It worked yesterday and I was able to distribute to a small test list I created. I had tracking working, everything. I can't understand what might have happened.

Not sure now how to troubleshoot this.

Thanks in advance for helping me thru this

    Hi Lee,

That is a strange error. Can you tell me if you can do anything whenever you are in here or does this error cause the module not to work at all?

Can you also let me know what version of DNN you are running and what specific version of Opt In Email you are running on?

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Hi Chad,

Thanks for helping me thru this. I really don't know where else to turn.

Modules, opt in and adv e mail worked. Never crashed that I could tell although the error in event log was Module Load Exception.

Using 5.6.1 - hosted thru powerdnn.

    opt in ver 4.30.71
    adv mail ver - 4.30.61

system was able to send me an e mail notification from another form process I have so I know that works

yesterday I was able to send to a small distro list so I had the from name fields cleared and the proper verification reg expression being used.

One thing I thought of was that the adv mail module was not referencing proper page for opt in module. It was. I moved adv e mail to same page as opt in, but then the page reference changed to a page that did not have opt in e mail. Also, when the 2 were on same page, The page they were on was not in page list to set the opt in location page. Presently, they are on separate pages.

just fyi if that makes a difference.

    Lee

WTF sometimes is an appropriate acronym.

After resigning myself to the prospect that all my grand ambitions were dashed by the anti-christ I sit in front of and slave myself to for hours on end at the expense of domestic tranquility, I arose at 4:00 am and just had to get back to it.

I opened up my main e mail and there they are. ALL 20 TEST E MAILS WERE IN THE IN BOX. Even the inappropriate body text of the last 5 I sent.

So now I have sent them for real. Scheduled of course so I am nervous.

You test, test, test, and then you get as comfortable as you can get with formatting, links working, etc etc. Something about clicking "finish" or "send" or "submit" that is like pulling the trigger. No taking it back.

If its all there like you expected, you have that euphoric feeling. But, if its not, recovery time varies with the individual.

Thank you Chad, Candace, Ryan and the posters here for your continued support. I have lots to learn.

    Hello Lee,
