Hi! I've created a few forms with many fields so am familiar with much of Dynamic Forms, but am at a loss to determine the best/simplest way to create a simple checklist that generates a printable list. (ie: when the user checks a checkbox, items are added to the list) It needs to have the capability of checking multiple boxes.

    Thanks for your help! Heather

    Hi Heather,
To better work with you on this problem we would need more information. Can you let us know what version of DNN you are on and with what version of Dynamic Forms you are working with? Are you on DNN 5.6.2 and with dynamic forms 3.4? An option is for you to go to www.betasprings.com and in the area for Dynamic Forms put up your sample and we can look at your setup and see what is going on. The login is host, dnnhost for betasprings. What module are you using to display your list? Dynamic Views or another 3rd party pluggin? Dynamic Forms is great for doing part of the work but I think something like Dynamic Views would be needed to display the list that you want to print. An alternative to going to betasprings would be for you to give us a login to your site and we can go in a see what you are doing. At anyrate I will wait to hear from you.

    Thanks

    Hi Don,
Actually not really having a problem, just want to know the best way to attempt this. I'm sure there are several ways to accomplish it, just asking for some direction on what would be most simple. Thanks!

    Hello Heather,

There are PDF Completion Events that allow you to create PDF formats, so upon completion and submission of the form you can create a PDF document that can be attached to an email and then printed if wanted?

Or you can drop a printer icon on your form, just an image, and when clicked redirect to a page that is printer friendly with all of the check boxes that have been checked. Then you can embed JavaScript into a button to call a printer to print the page.

Now this question arises, how will I get all of the Checkboxes that were checked to this page for printing? Well you can pass their values over by session, query string or cookie, and have fields on this page collect from these values.

The PDF event would be the easiest approach to have a document that can be fully customized, stored on a computer and printed.

Let me know if this is feasible for your work flow?

    Thanks,

    Ryan
