Hi. I'm attempting to send a mailing to my list and have noted that the HTML images in the piece are not displaying when sent via the Scheduled Send or Schedule Immediately options. However, they DO show if sent via Send Immediately.

    Opt In version is 4.30.60.
    DNN version 05.06.03 (45)

This was tested via a test list of two recipients and is reproducible.

    Please advise.

BTW, the image files are located on the DNN Server and posted in the E-mail via the FCK editor.

A further issue is that if I check off "Do not replace images with full portal alias:" images no longerappear when I Send Immediately; remove the check and I'm back to the original situation, images appear in immediate sends but not in scheduled sends.

This looks like a serious bug of some sort.

There is a work around. If you check the "Don't sub images" box and then fill in the image source with the complete URL, ie, http://www.xxx.com/Portal..." the images show.

This looks to me to be clearly a bug and it would be nice to know if a fix is planned.

    Hi Rick,

Thanks for your feedback. There are many DNN versions, Rich Text Editors, and settings within those editors etc... The reason we offer so many of these different options is that its very difficult to determine your specific settings and if for some users the module works the reverse of how its working for you. So basically we offer the options so that you at least can get it to work.

    Thanks,

    Chad

Chad, sorry, that's BS. And the typical answer from too many DNN providers. It's always the fault of the version of DNN, the FCK editor, the server, etc.

You have the versions of DNN and your product. Are you saying you have no idea what's going on? No interest in finding out?

The problem is reproducible and consistent. You're not handling some parameter in DNN properly. You need to investigate and fix.

    Rick,

As always Rick, we value your feedback and I can understand the frustration here... Trust me, we have researched a few of these areas of code before and if this really was a "Parameter" missing then we would have not gone through the trouble of offering multiple options and so forth. Are you running DNN 4?

There are multiple versions of DNN, multiple editors, and multiple versions of these editors... So we try our best but (especially with the editors it seems like because we control so little of what they actually do) its difficult to do. For example, did you know that even with the FCK or Telerik editors there are options within those to turn on/turn off if the full URL is saved for images instead of just the relative path? from our research as well there has not been a way for us to determine if that feature is enabled for the editor from any DNN code or anything, I think it might be a web.config setting but then again even that is unique per editor.

This seems to really be the case with email from time to time too.. For example, I just tested the upcoming 4.4 release with three separate versions of DNN because we have some clients running into issues if they are on 4.6.x
    (reference this thread:
    http://www.datasprings.com/dnn-modu...r-upgrade/

And another customer on a specific version of DNN with SSL email that requires a special build.

So... Although I wished this was "some parameter" in DNN, I guess I would ask you "What version of DNN" The trouble might be reproducible, but its not always consistent (I could go through about 10 support tickets quickly that would differ on this subject).

Have a great night. I think one thing we can do better (for sure) is always trying to keep up with the trends of the most common DNN version for our modules and always setting the defaults towards that version.

    Thanks,

    Chad

Chad, that came across harsher than I intended, but I spent hours trying to figure out what was going on. And it's a reproducible problem that involved Opt In E-mail.

I provided this at the beginning of the thread. The FCK editor is the stock one installed when you install DNN.

I'll post more if I find out more.

I did not and will learn more about this.
