I have inherited a site developed by another developer with whom I have no contact.  There is a registration form which has a field improperly mapped to a data source which I need to change.  I have host access to the DNN site (5.04.02), and it appears to be using ver 1.0.0 of the Dynamic Registration module.  I've searched all through the site but cannot find a way to edit the registration form.  I have no documentation available either.  I have read snippets for other versions referring to control panels and wizards to help set up a form, but these do not seem to be present.  This is a live site, so I am concerned about upgrading versions at the moment.  Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how/where I would be able to edit the contents of the registration form?  This is a scenario where I could get away with putting hard code in place of the data source - if I could find where to edit the form.

    Thanks.

    Hi &legacyDev,

Wow, version 1.0! Are you able to get to the control panel? While you are in DNN edit mode, you might find a little down arrow in the area of the module title and then find Manage Questions/Settings? If you can get there, you should be able to select the field and expand the Advanced Field Options section where you will be able to change the profile property it's mapped to.

Beyond that, your version is really not supported anymore. I realize you inherited this but as you review your needs, I will highly recommend that you upgrade your DNN version and your Dynamic Registration to the latest. There has been a lot of changes since v1.0 and I'm sure you'll find the current versions to be powerful and flexible. Thanks!

    Hi Candace,

The only control panels available to me in all of DNN that I can find are those for the admin and host accounts, none of which contain items that appear to be of use as it relates to the registration form. The module does have a drop menu, but all I have to work with are Export Content, Import Content, Help, Print, View Source, Settings, Delete, Refresh, and a sub menu for Move containing various page positions. The settings option only has generic permissions settings and so forth.

There is a page elsewhere which has 'trip settings' for the event, but it has limited options. It allows changing the contents of a few fields, such that they can be used as a data source, but this is where the problem begins. The registration form pulls some data from this registration settings page. The problem is that one of the dates it pulls from this page is pulling from the wrong field. I'm just looking to either change the field that is being used as the source, or hard coding the page to show a particular date. If I could figure out how to get to the rest of the data which builds the registration form it would be an easy fix.

As I have been reverse engineering several items on this site I have found that a number of security via obscurity steps were taken by the previous author. It's entirely possible that something has been turned off or hidden to complicate things.

    I appreciate the help.

    Hi,

I just by first question is... Are you sure this is really our module? I don't think anything of the things you described are directly a Dynamic Registration feature or functionality... This sounds like possibly another module that is not our module?

    Thanks,

    Chad
