    Hi

    I use Dynamic Forms for registering attendees to events.

    Some times i would like to limit the number of submissions to f.ex. 100 so i don't get to many attendees to an event.

    How can limit the number of submissions i Dynamic Forms ?

    Hi Jimmi - Normally the way would implement this would be to use SQL Validation and/or SQL Defaults to return if there are even enough submissions left for the user to continue to move forward and displaying a message to them if there are/are not enough entries left. This can be handled using those two features, and possibly in combination with client side events.

    I realize this is pretty limited for how to do this, but basically you could use SQL Defaults to return a true/false statement based on the number of submission already... this query would be a record count against the number of entries already stored in the database for this form submission. After that, you could show/hide other fields or run client side events to disable the Submit button. Other things such as SQL Validation could be used as well, but this would not be displayed to the user until after they clicked submit.

    There is also a built-in feature to limit individual submissions (Survey Mode) within the module but I don't think that is what you are wanting... might be later a feature we could add in that would make this more seamless... Maybe "Maximum number of submissions", "Clear Maximum Number Link", and "Maximum Number of Submissions Message". So often though the work flow might be for a specific option on the form (like a class or event from a dropdownlist) and not the form submission itself.

    OK - it would be nice with a max submission field in a future release.

    For now i will try the sql validation option.
