I need to use a Checkbox Group to supply Email Addresses to an Email Cpmpletion Event.

The problem is that the Email Completion Event requires that the addresses be separated by Semicolons and the Checkbox Group outputs the values separated by commas.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Bump, please!

If I can't get this to work I'll probably have to trash the whole form and start over with a different module.

    Hello David,

Here is what I have done in the past to achieve the same scenario:

1.) Add a hidden field to the form with a greater sort order than that of your checkbox.
2.) In the Client Side section under Advanced Field Options for your Checkbox group control, make the hidden field = Checkbox group values.

I.E. The checkbox group saves the selected/checked values as a Comma Separated list. So you will need to create a JavaScript function that replaces the commas with semi-colons. The Client Side in the Checkbox Group control will look similar to this:

    $(HiddenFieldShortName) = JSFunction($(CheckBoxGroupShortName_FieldID));

2a.) Please make sure that you trim the last semi-colon for some email exchange servers don't like having a semi-colon as the last character of the email address string.

3.) Use the hidden field short field name in your email completion event.

4.) You have completed the needed solution.

If you can't figure this out from the information I have described thoroughly, you can use our Premium Integration Services to have us implement the solution for you at a cost.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I don't suppose you would share that piece of Javascript with me.  I think I can figure out everythong except that.

It may not matter anyway if I can't get this other problem solved.

    Hello David,

Unfortunately I'm unable to support the programming language "JavaScript" without the use of Premium Integration Services.

But the best hint I can provide is that you will need to create a JavaScript function that accepts one parameter. The value that will be passed into this parameter will be the ID of the Checkbox Group. Inside the function, you will loop through all checked checkboxes and concatenate a string of values with a semi-colon after each value.

I will take a look at your other forum post to see if I can assist.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
