    I need to be able to create a parent portal as a direct result of either DR or DF. I figure a completion event would be the way to go.

    Anyone have any idea on how to do the following as a completion event?
    1. Parent portal is created using DR or DF form items
    2. User is added as admin to the made portal
    3. Tabs are created as per the form items.
    I dont even know what sprocs are called in portal creation so any assistance would be great. I'll also post this on DR forums.

    Hi Sentient...

    I know of no way that a DR completion event could create and configure a portal, parent or otherwise; but there is a solution you may want to explore.

    Using Open Web Studio (OWS), there is a method for creating such portals dynamically based upon user input.  In the method that is outlined in video by DNNCreative (www.dnncreative.com) 'How to Create a Portal Signup Module with OWS', the presenter demonstrates the creation process from user html input fields.  These fields could as easily be constructed in DR or DF with querystring variables passed as a completion event to the OWS module.

    DNNCreative requires a subscription to view the videos, but this and the many tutorials on this site are well worth the annual subscription cost.

    Hi Sentient,

    If you can use Dynamic Registration, there are instructions for creating child portals in the Dynamic Registration User Guide. The last user guide is for 4.0 (update coming soon) but you should find it starting from p 177.
