Is there any way to pass text from a successfully generated HTML client event onto View Form Results or an e-mail event?

    Working on a Form and I successfully made some client-side events.  The values of one of my fields (2 radio buttons) passes on a string of text/HTML on another field, depending on the radio button chosen.  Got that generated successfully through if/else if statements.

    Is there any way to generate that text string/HTML onto Viewing Form Results or an e-mail event where you generate the results template?  To compare/contrast, I did the exact same method to generate text successfully in a text box, and the text box results were able to be seen in View Form Results.

    To re-state, the successfully generated text is a completely different field.

    Thanks for any insight,
    Jack

    Hello Jack,

    As long as you have a Question on the form that can collect or be assigned a value from your JavaScript, you can utilize the $(ShortFieldName) of that Control in Form Completion Events or view Form Results.

    Many times you can create Questions of type Hidden(Hidden Field) to store values that you want to hide from the user but use in Form Completion Events(Emails, SQL, etc..)

    Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Understood. I'll lay out the code of what is successful and what didn't work.

    What works, using the resulting values/text in a textbox.
    if(funcRadioCalc($(DonationType_FieldID)) == '2000.00')
    {
    $(DonationTypeText) = 'Donation With Naming Rights';
    }

    else if (funcRadioCalc($(DonationType_FieldID)) == '0.00')
    {
    $(DonationTypeText) = 'Donation/End of the Year Donation';
    }

    What doesn't work, attempting to use the client-side generated events as HTML.
    if(funcRadioCalc($(DonationType_FieldID)) == '2000.00')
    {
    document.getElementById('DonationTypeText').innerHTML = 'Donation With Naming Rights';
    }

    else if (funcRadioCalc($(DonationType_FieldID)) == '0.00')
    {
    document.getElementById('DonationTypeText').innerHTML = 'Donation/End of the Year Donation';
    }

    The second piece writing the HTML gets displayed on the form per a normal client side event, which is great, but I'd like to also get that HTML from the field onto the individual View Form Results template or an e-mail event.
