    Hi Folks,

    I'm just playing around with the OnBlur event and while it works my visitors still can Submit.

    Let's say I want to check for a certain character in a field and bring up an error message. I can use

    if (this.value.indexOf("@") == -1)

    {

    alert("error")

    }

    But this doesn't stop the visitor from hitting the Submit link.

    I know I can remove the text in the field and set the field to be required but that wouldn't please the visitor if they have entered a lot of text.

    This is just an example to highlight a potential problem.

    I supppose what I would like would be an OnSubmit validation facility.

    Any ideas, hints or tips ?

    Thanks

    Tony

    Hi Tony, I've not verified this solution will work, but it's worth a try. Try adding a return false; in your javascript, such as...

    if (this.value.indexOf("@") == -1)

    {

    alert("error")
    return false;
    }
