    Hai,

I want to insert the datas in the form to the table but i dont know how to insert the data into the table when the submit is clicked. And how to connect to the sql using the select button. Can you give me a small demo or documentation on how to store the data into the table. I am a beginner in this DotNetNuke and wants to know how to do the insertion using the sql.

When i try to submit the form it shows the following error.

Error: Dynamic Forms is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: commandText ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: commandText at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.PrepareCommand(SqlCommand command, SqlConnection connection, SqlTransaction transaction, CommandType commandType, String commandText, SqlParameter[] commandParameters, Boolean& mustCloseConnection) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(SqlConnection connection, SqlTransaction transaction, CommandType commandType, String commandText, SqlParameter[] commandParameters, SqlConnectionOwnership connectionOwnership) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, CommandType commandType, String commandText, SqlParameter[] commandParameters) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, CommandType commandType, String commandText) at DataSprings.Modules.DynamicForms.SqlDataProvider.GetSQLDefault(String strSQL) at DataSprings.Modules.DynamicForms.DynamicQuestionController.GetSQLValidation(String strSQL) at DataSprings.Modules.DynamicForms.DynamicForms.ServerSideValidation() at DataSprings.Modules.DynamicForms.DynamicForms.SubmitForm(Boolean ProcessPaymentNotification, String strResponseID) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

    Thanks

    George

This is just a very basic example but should get you started.

    1. Create a form with two textboxes...one of them should have a short field name FirstName and the other textbox should have a short field name of LastName.

    2. create a table in your database to collect your form data...something like this.
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[FormDataTest](
    [SubmitId] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
    [FirstName] [varchar](15) NOT NULL,
    [LastName] [varchar](15) NOT NULL

    CONSTRAINT [PK_SubmitId] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
    (
    [SubmitId] ASC
    )) ON [PRIMARY]
    3. Create a form completion event with a event type of Dynamic SQL Statment. Your statement would look like this for the example table above.
    INSERT INTO [dbo].[FormDataTest]
    ([FirstName]
    ,[LastName])
    VALUES
    ('$(FirstName)', '$(LastName)')
In this example the short field names in the form are FirstName and LastName. **notice how the form fields are referenced in the VALUES portion of the insert statement...

When a user clicks submit the FirstName and LastName values should be inserted into the the FormDataTest table.

This should work ...I did not test it so let me know if you have any problems.
