We have a simple contact us form that we're building out and want to use a multiline text box for comments. The only problem is that the text scrolls horizontally and doesn't use the full height of the text box. Has anyone else experienced this with the multiline textbox? Is there a way to get the text box to work more elegantly?

    Hi Patrick,

This is very strange. Let's try to isolate the problem.   Can you tell me what version of Dynamic Forms you have?  Also, what DNN version are you using?  Did you recently upgrade to DNN 4.9?

Also, can you duplicate this on betasprings.com?  Please use host / dnnhost as username/password.

    Thanks,
    Candace

    Candace,

It looks like it is a cross-browser issue. I tried out the page with the form in IE7 and it works just fine.

In Firefox 3.0.2, it is scrolling horizontally. I setup a test page at betasprings and the issue persists with FF3.0.2

    Check it out http://www.betasprings.com/pwrtestm...fault.aspx

    Patrick,

Yes, it does look like a browser issue. To make it more interesting, when I used your betasprings page using my computer (on FF3/0/2), I did not encounter the problem. However, the problem is duplicated exactly using someone else's computer also on FF3.0.2. We will have to research this further.

Are there any updates to this issue? Any known causes or work-arounds? It would be nice to know what firefox add-ons are installed on the machines that are running into this problem. Here is a list of my add-ons:

CodeBurner 1.1, Firebug 1.3.3, Firecookie 0.8, FireFTP 1.0.4, Inline code finder 0.93, java quick starter 1.0, MS .NET Framework assistant 1.0, Pixel perfect 0.6.1, Web developer 1.1.6

I tried to disable all of the add-ons to see if that solved the problem but no luck. I haven't gone as far as to uninstall my add-ons but I might try that next if people think it’s even possible that an add-on could be the cause of the bug.

    Tim,

Hi. Yes this for sure does sound like a browser difference/issue as its easily duplicated and there is not much code we are changing for the multi-line textbox VS standard textbox. Can you tell me if you have the same issue throughout other web sites (maybe non DNN) with multi line textbox's fields?

Actually, I do get the same issue on a non DNN site, BUT it is an asp.net site. I don't get the issue on non ASP.NET sites. I never noticed before; don't know how I missed that.

So it's not an issue with DNN or the Datasprings forms mod, or the Firefox browser, its ASP.NET and our friends at Microsoft. Now I wonder if this is happening on ASP.NET pages with or without AJAX or both? And is this happening on any other browsers other then Firefox, like IE 8?
