I installed the dynamic forms module version 2.2 in DNN 4.37 and DNN 4.4.1.

Great module with a lot of options, I really like it, but more than once the module crashes and I cannot load the page with the form anymore. Solution delete the page and build it all over again. (or hack the database, but unfortunately I cannot say that to my customers).

What causes the crash, I think it has something to with changing dynamic field that are already on the form.

(most of the times radiobuttons).

Can anyone help me with this problem?

HI there. Yes, we have identified at least a few instances in which the module will cause issues upon loading (we don't use the word crash, bad for PR ) but we are looking into them. For starters, if you can outline any direct steps for duplicating the issue on our test site at www.betasprings.com that is always useful for us getting a fix out quicker.

What we have been finding on a few occasions is that an issue can occur if you can setup things such as compare a compare validator but then delete one of the other fields that the compare validator was tied to etc... Most of the problems we have found have had to do with client side validation similar to this.

We are working to make this more 'full proof' so that the errors shouldn't occur to begin with but my suggestion for now would be to always make sure you have an 'Edit' link available. By having an edit link available what I mean is that you either copy/paste the URL that you are in when you are in 'Manage Questions / Settings' or you can easily duplicate the link to get back into the area. From here you can turn on/off general settings or determine what maybe cause the issue by removing a question or changing a setting etc... Again, please let us know any time you can replicate it as we will get a fix out but I am just throwing out some good 'how to's' so you wouldn't have to start fresh with a new form.

Another way you can replicate getting back into manage questions/settings. Lets assume your site name is mysite.com, your tabID is 36, and your mID is 10, the URL to get back into manage the settings would be:

http://www.mysite.com/default.aspx?...p;ctl=edit

Actually generating a URL similar to this will also help if you ever have problems with other modules and need to get back into manage the settings and so forth.

I downloaded the 2.2 demo last week, but never installed it.  I purchased 2.3 today and when I went to install it, I selected the 2.2 demo instead.

I noticed MY error moments after hitting the 'install' button, so I installed 2.3 right over the top (is there a better way to do it?).

Nonetheless, within 5 minutes of posting my issue, I had a file in my email from DataSprings that fixed everything...AND restored my crashed page!

First impressions:

• The documentation is the best I have seen from a DNN module
• Customer support is unrivaled, expecting to be down for hours if not days; instead, down for mere minutes.
