    Hi Chad,

I see the Country and Region drop-downs work by selecting values from the 'list' table. Is there a way to populate the Region drop-down in correspondence to the Country selected?

At the moment the Region list is only US regions. Is there possibly a script I can run to add more regions?

I guess I would also need a way of recalling the selected Country value in the region populate query.

    Any Ideas?

    Paul,

You can do this, although we don't make it as automated as you would like we have been able to create the scenario on the www.betasprings.com site as well as have several users implementing this.

Check out this post here on how to do it:

I've just had a go at your demo at betasprings.com and it didn't seem to work. Is it the page labeled as 'Test Registration' ?

Seems as though the page has an error; Default VAlues object reference not set to an instance of an object etc.

And i tried the How-to-do-it, but the region query is invalid (using the correct short name for the country variable)

    Any idea

    Dirk,

Hi. More than likely this is because your DotNetNuke installation includes an object qualifier. Object qualifiers add a prefix to every single stored procedure, table, and so forth within your dnn installation. You can see if your site uses an object qualifier either by checking in your web.config or go to Host, SQL and do a query such as this:

select top 10 * from sysobjects where name like '%portals%'.

If you get results such as a table name called 'portals' then your system isn't using object qualifiers but if you get something such as dnn_portals then your object qualifier is 'dnn_' and you must use that in other queries throughout the system. For example the query to return regions/countries would not pull from the 'lists' table, it would pull from the 'dnn_lists' table. Hope this helps, if you still have a problem please submit a support ticket and we can review it in more detail.

    Hi Chad,

I got it working, using your instructions. The only problem I was having was there wasn't enough data in the lists table for regions. All I had was US regions. I found a previous dnn install with all the regions and copied from that. Works great now.

    Cheers,

    Paul
