    Hello,

I have a form that at times people will be inserting null date values for. Currently when a null is entered it automatically assigns the date "01/01/1900". I looked for a function in the module that controls this, but can't seem to find anything.

How can I keep it from doing this?

    Thanks, Nathan

HI Nathan, you won't find the control for this in the module. I believe it's hard-coded into the programming source code. -- David

You can perform an SQL update statement to change the value of the date to something else other 1/1/1900 under HOST / SQL or SQL management studio. Did you save the DF form submission to a custom SQL table with the datefield? If not, then the default sql table should be under dynamicforms_questionresponse and dynamicforms_question. Note the "DynamicQuestionID" is the one you want to match as well as the ModuleID. Dynamicforms_question has all the questions that you created on all your DF forms (all the modules) so you need to get the "DynamicQuestionID" for this moduleID you are wanting to change. And then match that "DynamicQuestionID" to the dynamicforms_questionresponse table to update the value for the date. -- David

    Thanks David,

I am using my own tables for this information so that part isn't a problem.

I guess I would like to understand better why this is happening with the form. I'm sure there are many forms in which a date field might possibly be left blank and can't see that everyone would be creating some sort of update trigger.

Not to belabor this, but is there a reason this is happening?

    Thanks, Nathan

If a datefield is left blank, it actually has a message "Error saving date response". On your DF page, turn debug mode on and then fill out your form (leave the datefield blank) and click submit. You should see the values being passed. It doesn't like blank entries and will replace it with message "Error saving date response" so that's why that message gets converted to a datetime of 1/1/1900 when saving to the database. -- David
