I am running DNN 5.2 with DF 2.6, and I've created a simple form to purchase a single item via PayPal. I've configured all the appropriate settings, including a form completion event to set a particular role for the user, and even though the entire PayPal process works, the role doesn't get assigned for some reason.

I've scanned through your forums, and I think I'm doing everything correct. So, my first question is whether DF 2.6 even supports role assignment after a PayPal purchase. Another question is security; the form I've developed is on a page set to administrative access only--could that be a problem? Again, the entire PayPal process works...I just can't get the proper role assigned.

    Hi Scott,

PayPal Integration was introduced with Dynamic Forms 2.6 and it works (although I will encourage you to update to DF 3.1).  From what you said above, the issue would be the 'admin only access.'  The form needs to be visible to all users in order for PayPal to talk back to it.

I suggest you hide the form behind an admin only page but keep the form itself visible to all.  Thanks!

    Candace,

Thank you for your reply. I did upgrade to DF 2.7 last night to take advantage of improved PayPal functionality.

My challenge is that the form module needs to be set to "registered" because only those folks who have registered with the web site should be able to see it (anonymous users aren't allowed to make a purchase). However, it sounds like you're stating that the form module security needs to be set to anonymous because otherwise PayPal can't talk to it. Any suggestions?

We have many users with a similar situation.  You might want to set up a 'Members Only' page which you will make visible to registered users only.  Then on your Dynamic Forms page, set the parent page to the Members only page and make it visible to all users.  That way, only registered members can get access to it on your site.  Thanks!
