    Has anyone configured a completion event in which the Grid/View Survey Results are displayed as their values -vs- the check box image?

    I would really like to do this too. Is there any way? The grid seems unnecessary in email when using radio buttons (ie. only one result for each line)

    THANKS!

    Hi Jason and Amy,

    This is not a feature available with the survey field but we will look into adding it as an option in future releases.  If you need it right away, we can code this with Premium Support Hours.  Just let us know. Thanks!

    It would be a great feature to add.

    In the mean time I was looking at this demo http://www.datasprings.com/Products...fault.aspx

    You mention that the email could look like the gridview (which would make it easier to see what was actually checked I think). And the last comment is:

    2. Go to your Email Completion Event and switch from Rich Text Editor to Basic Text Box and plug in the copied or modified Gridview stylesheet section at the very top. Here's an example:

    But there is no example that I can see. Where exactly do you add the style info, I tried, but it didn't change anything in email.

    Thanks!

    Hello Amy,

    I believe what you found was actually referencing an earlier part of the demo. As for the example, it would be CSS. Here are the CSS classes in which you can customize a gridview. This is the section that the demo is telling you to paste the copied or modified into your email event basic text box.

    -------------------------------------------------

    .DynamicForms_GridColumn{ background-color: #000000;  }
    .DynamicForms_GridHeaderColumn{ background-color: #ffffff;      color: #08088A;}
    .DynamicForms_GridItem{ background-color: #CEF6CE;  }
    .DynamicForms_GridColumn{ background-color: #9BDA80;  color: #000000;}
    .DynamicForms_GridView{ background-color: #5C97EF;   color: #000000; font-weight: Bold; }

    -------------------------------------------------

    Let me know how this helps you,

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    I was unclear on how / where to add it.  I set it up with tags to hold the style, but that didin't work.

    Hello Amy,

    You will need to place these CSS Classes into Admin -> Site Settings and expand the Stylesheet Editor.

    You will see a multilined textbox, you can place these classes anywhere into this textbox. I would add the name of the classes and add your own CSS attributes for merely copy/pasting this code, might not be the look you are trying to acheive.

    Make sure you click "Save Style Sheet" to save your modifications. Then view your page which is using the Gridview and the changes should apply to this control.

    Please let me know how this helps you.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Now I'm really confused.

    The instructions on the demo say to add the style sheet info to the email completion event, but you're saying to add the stylesheet info to the DNN site styles?

    Thanks Ryan!

    I've styled it the way I wanted for the web, and was hoping to only pass the selected item to the email, but since that isn't possible I thought passing the styling from the gridview would at least make the email more readable (hard to see which column is checked the way it is passed now).

    Hello Amy,

    So in your email you will go to the basic text box mode, and insert

    Place all of your styles inside of the CSS classes. You will embed this in the content of your email. To get a better idea of how this works I would recommend filling out Demo 22 and then submit it so you get the email of your results. Then when you get the email view the source code of it. If you use Outlook you can right click your email and then choose view source.

    Let me know if this steers you in the right direction.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
