I went to create a new checkbox group. SQL worked fine but when it came to saving, the field is not created. Attempted to create basic text field also no good. Using DNN 5.6 Dyn Forms 3.4

Pressing the update /Exit link presents the processing popup but doesn't exit.

Note: I can create forms and fields using the create wizard but checkbox group is not an option via that method.

Hi Paul - Yes another client just reported this today and we are reviewing it. We will likely need to issue a patch or fix before the next release as there were some code changes. Please be patient as 5.6 is only 1 1/2 days old

As far as the Exit link not exiting... Can I ask where you are hosting at? Can you do other things ok like create a completion event?

Nevermind... I saw you said update and exit and not actually exit. It appears in 5.6 that there are some breaking changes with the final line which is config.touch and basically clears the cache/restarts the application... this was put in place because its needed it you change CAPTCHA fields but apparently its throwing an error regardless of the field type since that method isn't valid anymore in DNN.

I'm seeing the same error (config.touch error on field update) with Dynamic Registration. Can you also please release an update for Dynamic Registration?

Hi guys... Yes we will have a patch/release for both by the end of the week.

For Dynamic Registration you will need to upgrade to the 4.1 release as its already been in developed/ready for release and we don't have plans to retrofit the 4.0 release for support against 5.6 as there are a few other fixs for 5.6 (simply put 5.6 wasn't around when that version was developed) but it should be ready by Friday as well.

Installed the patch. Repaired existing module. Module updated successfully. Version number updated properly. Restarted the application. Created a simple text box and clicked update/exit. Same problem, same error in the log... tried clicking update also. Changes to form are not taking effect?

Hi Paul - That is strange I think because if you install an updated version (and .30 patch is the most up to date) it shouldn't show you that its a repair... Did it say it was reparing it?

Do you get the exact same error for the config.touch problem? That code was removed completely so we might have to review the patch you downloaded I guess. We will be out over the holiday but I will follow up on this file if you submit a support ticket and provide me with host rights.

Trying to get the patch so I can do some work with the module - where can I download it?  I spent half a day thinking it was my fault - wasted?

I cannot see the patch in the Patches and Fixes downloads on Snowcovered.  Any ideas when it will be available?

Hi guys... If you purchase the 4.0 collection then the downloads should be under 'My Downloads' and if you purchase Dynamic Forms 3.4 directly then the patch should appear under Patches and Hot Fixes.

The Dynamic Registration version will be the 4.1 release which will be released December 1st.

Ginnie - Hi... The patch you are referring to here is actually for Dynamic Forms 3.3 and not the 3.4 release. When you say you have the 3.4 version, you might need to open a support ticket and let us know your invoice ID. The patch is available as a free update if you either purchase the 4.0 collection or Dynamic Forms 3.4. We do not plan on posting the patch to earlier collections or versions of DNN as DNN 5.6 wasn't around when the collection 3.0 or Dynamic Forms 3.3 were developed.

Hi Ginnie - I will check on this... At this time we don't plan to go back to past collections for updated patches and fixes unless any security issues our found. Our policy on the collection is that 'You are entitled to all new module releases and patches/hot fixes/updates as long as you are part of the most recent collection'.

My client just bought Dynamic Registration 4.0 in September. I see that 4.1 has been released, but I don't see the upgrade/download option for 4.1 in his account. This is a crippling bug in the software when using DNN 5.6. Are you saying he's going to have to buy the next version or never upgrade his DNN??

Hi... Yes, as long as you are within the 90 days (we already increased this from 60 and have to stay firm at 90) or part of the collection 4.0 the update is a free update. Otherwise if you are upgrading from 4.0 the upgrade price would be 70% off. We believe this is pretty fair as well since the version of DNN that you are referring to wasn't available when we developed and tested that version of the module etc...
