DNN 6.2.1.253 CE, Dynamic Forms 4.10.0.5601

Demonstration #35 - Form with Tabs

I created a new page. loaded Dynamic Forms into it and imported the demonstration file.

    Issue # 1:
I clicked Submit without entering any data. Now when I click on view results, I get the error:  A critical error has occurred. Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'String' is not valid. I looked at the QuestionResponse table and there are NULLs in the Response column.  The ResponseText also has NULL values in it.

    Issue # 2:
I marked one of the fields as required. The red * shows next to the field but I can still click Submit without entering any data.

I have made no other changes to the demo other than defining the starting and ending fields for each tab (this did not import) - and setting the required field.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Gigi,

I would recommend looking for JavaScript conflicts on this page with Dynamic Forms. Issue #1 hasn't been reported before so it sounds as though there may be strange errors on the page that is causing this.

Please download FireBug plugin for FireFox. Enable FireBug and reload this page with Dynamic Forms. FireBug should show you all of the errors on the page. This would assist us in debugging the issues.

    Issue #2:

The field(s) that you made required, did you go to Question Validations -> Enabled Required Field and provided text for the Message and Error Text? Don't leave the Message and Error Text empty.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    I have issue #1 as well -
A critical error has occurred. Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'String' is not valid.

    How can I fix that?
    Thanks

    Hello,

Can you please let us know which Question type you're using that is obtaining this value? Textbox, Combo Box, Radio Buttons, etc..

Have you installed FireBug into your Firefox browser and attempted to see if there are any issues on the page?

This could be derived from importing the Demonstration #35 into your Dynamic Forms instance. Possibly something isn't being referenced correctly for your module after the import into this module.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
