My form that has worked hundreds of times now just hangs if a person clicks open a combo box on the form. they see the "Please Wait" message that I programmed to be there and it just stays there indefinitely.

this started on the first time to use the form since moving the entire site to a new server. so i thought that it might be a Data Springs licensing issue. So I installed the newest Dynamic forms 4.1 to the site (an upgrade to what was there already)  and entered my license info on a new form.

But neither the Dynamic Forms upgrade or the application of a valid developer's license has solved the problem.

I wonder if this is related to the change to a 64 bit operating system on the new server?

The combo boxes in question have both client side events and a question event attached to them.

    So two big questions.

Can you suggest why it is now just hanging with the please wait message?

And How do I go about troubleshooting this?

Like everything, this is a time-critical issue. Thank you anyone for your attempt to help! - Mark

I changed containers several times to no avail. Disabling AJAX on the form fixed the hang problem.

So the form is now working for you?? Per "Disabling AJAX on the form fixed the hang problem." from above.

You may want to download Firebug(plug-in) for FireFox. This plugin will allow you to see any potentials or physical JavaScript conflicts. From my experience, JavaScript is usually the culprit to unusual issues in Dynamic Forms.

    Let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Yes - This also sounds like a conflict with some JavaScript so I would also recommend downloading Firebug and enabling the console application within FireBug.

The cause of the problem was found when I learned from an old post of my own here in the forum that changing the skin might fix the hanging issue. That fixed it this time too so I looked into the skin and found a line of code at the bottom that shouldn't be there:

    [script type="text/javascript"]

removing this line stopped the hanging problem. You both were wright about it being a javascript issue. Thanks for your help. - Mark Buelsing
