Failed Distributions although email is sent

    I am starting to work with my first mass emailing with the Opt In advanced, and have a question about reporting.  It appears that when I send an email, it always states Failed Distribution, even though I verified the emails have gone out.

    Why is this?  How does it determine failed distribution?

    Just an FYI that the DNN install is on a seperate server than the mail server. The emails do send, I just get a Failed Distribution.

    It might help me to troubleshoot if someone had a couple of comments of how the opt-in module determines a Failed Distribution.

    Hi Shawn,

    Sorry for the late response.  Did you get your Opt In Email going?  A failed distribution generally involves an email with an invalid format like this@error.c  or noatsign.com or if there are errors or restrictions on your SMTP settings.  If you enable logging in Module Configuration, you might find specifics in the error logs or under Admin, Event Viewer.

    We have the same problem with this, there is no error, we only have 3 emails to test out, all going through, but it marked with failed distributions, no error recorded on the event logs.

    Anyone has the same case issue with Shawn?
