I've gotten my problems with the emailing straightened out thanks to Chad and Candace's quick response yesterday, so now I'm back to fixing the styling of the form. I still find myself perplexed by the alignment of the Required Field Error string.

When I choose to just use an asterix *  it displays, however it's pushed all the way to the right in both IE and FF.The reason this is such an issue is that when you choose to have two questions on the same row, the asterix marking the required field is pushed all the way to the right making it appear like the next question is the one with the error.

Thanks again for all your help.

    Hi,

Well, you have a few options here...

    * First, you could turn off client side validation and no * (or required field error) will appear directly. Then you have a few options, you can use the example text to add more spaces before and after a required field image or an *. The example text also appears to the right. For example, review this demonstration here which outlines specific validation images for dynamic forms.

    2. You could also have required field HTML/characters shown in the question header, question footer, or on the label itself. You could easily remove the question suffix in module configuration, general settings and then for each label set it to be before or after the label.

    Example: FirstName*: or FirstName: *

The best way to use HTML in example text or label is to open a Rich Text Editor, insert the red * or an image, then click 'View Source' within the editor and copy/paste the entire source to the example text.

I'm still a bit lost on this issue. I understand how with the example text you can put in images next to required fields.

What I am having problems with is my client side validation puts the error text all the way on the right side of the form next to the question. I am trying to get it to directly next to, and to the right of, the text field.

How do I go about doing this?

Hi. Can you attach a screenshot or setup a test form and send us the link on beta springs (you can sign in there as host/dnnhost). Specifically, you can probably adjust the main table form width (via the CSS Style Sheet) so that its not as large and the fields will be pushed closer together. There are other tips and tricks (such as adding a text/html field between the two fields or adding a text html field with a hidden table or characters/spaces to push fields closer together and this might get the layout you are looking for.
